I always hear people, the media and some organization promoting Healthy Living. I can’t help to wonder what is it all about. It sounds ridiculous why we need to define the word per se wherein we all know for a fact what “health” is and what “living? is. So i made a research on this for curiosity sake.
Let us first begin to define Health. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines Health as a state of complete physical, mental and social well being. Health is not simply defined as just the absence of the disease. So, we need to take note of this.
What is a healthy living?
The actual definition of Healthy Living is the steps, actions and strategies one puts in place in order to achieve the greatest degree of health. It is about taking responsibility and making intelligent choices for the present and for the future. Eating right food, getting enough exercise, emotional wellness, spiritual wellness and prevention are all part of creating a healthy lifestyle. We need to get focused in making our mind, body and soul in a state of being healthy,
What is a healthy lifestyle?
Having the right amount of food and exercise. A way of life which must involve regular exercise where you, as a person, are in complete state of physical, social and mental well being, whilst having the ability to meet the demand of the environment without undue fatigue. A healthy lifestyle is made up of a healthy balanced diet, regular exercise, good work-life balance and getting enough sleep with the absence of harmful drugs, alcohol, tobacco, illness and stress.
So healthy living would consist of:
Physical (For the body):
- Good nutrition, eating right
- Getting physically fit, beneficial exercise,
- Getting proper amount of sleep.
- Proper stress management.
Emotional Wellness (For the mind):
- Self-supportive attitude.
- Positive mindset and perspective
- Positive self-image.
You also need to give and receive:
- Love and compassion;
- You need to laugh and experience happiness;
- You need joyful relationships with yourself and others.
- Trust in your Creator,
- Live life with a purpose.
- Journey with what you believe in.
And all aspects of one’s self, must work in harmony to achieve wellness, so you need to create a balanced life.
A healthy lifestyle is essential in reducing the incidence and the impact of health problems, for recovery, for coping with stress and for improving the quality of one’s life. I have decided I want to blog more. Rather than just thinking about doing it, I’m starting right now. I will be posting on this blog once a week for all of 2011.
I know it won’t be easy, but it might be fun, inspiring, awesome and wonderful. Therefore I’m promising to make use of The DailyPost, and the community of other bloggers with similiar goals, to help me along the way, including asking for help when I need it and encouraging others when I can.
If you already read my blog, I hope you’ll encourage me with comments and likes, and good will along the way.
Hi, everyone! I am so delighted to be part of the community here in WordPress. It is really a privilege for me to get on board and begin blogging about anything which interests me a lot and hope would interest you as well. The thought of getting into something worthwhile like blogging came into my mind when I had the chance to see a recorded seminar about blogging. At first, I am kind of reluctant because i know for a fact that this is not my forte (but i guess it does now). See? I am writing! Thanks to that wonderful seminar. I was really moved and encouraged to get this started for some reasons of course. One, is to dig ideas i have inside of me and two is to share my experiences and discoveries i found in my everyday’s journey in life. I have a lot of ideas but i need to niche myself into something that would give me an identity. Goals and objectives are currently in process and I hope I would come up with a specific one. on my next post. As the saying goes, ” you may have great ideas but f you cannot get them across, it won”t get you anywhere.” This serves as a challenge to me as I believe that I myself do not wait for things to happen, I make things happen.
See you on my next post!
